Prinsengracht is arguably the most famous canal in Amsterdam.
The Herengracht, or "Gentlemen's Canal" the most famous Canal in Amsterdam, is named after the wealthy merchants who lived along its banks in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Keizersgracht, the "Emperor's Canal," runs parallel to Prinsengracht and offers a regal and serene walk.
The Reguliersgracht, or "Regulars' Canal", also one of the best canals in Amsterdam, is known for its picturesque bridges and beautiful houses.

Many Dutch people think that this is the most beautiful canal in the city: the Brouwersgracht even won a beauty contest organized by the newspaper "Het Parool".
It is definitely my favourite canal, especially in summer thanks to its enchanting colours.
The lovingly restored houses, the floating houses on both sides of the canal, the majestic trees, the bridges decorated with flower boxes and bicycles, and striking views of the intersections with the other main canals.
